  1. Completed application form, signed and notarized.
  2. A completed child support information form.
  3. A passport size photograph
  4. If licensed in another state, Letters of Good-Standing from the licensing agency of each state in which you are licensed or have been licensed.
  5. A fee of $100.00. This fee covers the expense of application, jurisprudence exam administration, and licensing fees through the year you are licensed in, at which time you will receive a renewal form for the upcoming year. Please make check or money order payable to the Nevada State Veterinary Board.
  6. An official/certified verification of your diploma or transcripts from the school you graduated from verifying that you received your degree.

  7. Nevada accepts the following education:
    1. A degree as a veterinary technician from a college accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association or the appropriate agency in the state where the college is located; or
    2. A bachelor degree in an area related to animal science or in another area approved by the Board; or
    3. Completion of an accelerated program for veterinary technicians approved by the Board.
  8. Each applicant who has received a bachelor of science degree (6b) in an area related to an animal science or completed an accelerated program(6c) must submit a Board approved Veterinary Technician Qualification List and show proof of completion of at least 4000 hours of supervised clinical experience in a veterinary hospital that are verified by an actively practicing veterinarian.
  9. One letter of recommendation from a person associated with the practice of veterinary medicine.
  10. Passing score of a 90% on the Nevada State take-home Jurisprudence Examination.
  11. Passing score of 425 on the VTNE. VTNE scores must be sent directly from AAVSB/Technician Information Verifying Agency (TIVA) they can be reached at (877) 698-8482 or on-line at (TIVA). Applicants that took the VTNE through Nevada do not need to submit verified scores.
